It’s Happy New Year 2021 in California! ThinkTalk wishes everyone a very blessed and peace-filled New Year.

. . .

According to the United Nations, there are 195 countries in the world. Most celebrate New Year on January 1st with the exception of a few countries. The countries that do not celebrate New Year on January 1st include:

  1. China (celebrates its New Year the first week of February),
  2. India (celebrates on April 13th),
  3. Sri Lanka (celebrates on April 14th),
  4. Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) (unknown, but probably August 9th because most holidays are dynamic as they flow with the lunar calendar), and
  5. Korea (celebrates on June 5th)
  6. Vietnam (celebrates on February 12)
  7. Israel (celebrates on September 7th)
  8. Ethiopia (celebrates on September 11th).

While California is just celebrating its New Year 2021, some countries have earlier ushered in the New Year. For example, Nigeria, United Kingdom, and other European countries ushered in the New Year at 3:00 P.M. California time. Nine hours later, California celebrates its New Year.

The rest of the United States of America celebrates New Year at various times which are three, two, or one hour before or after California time.

“New Year 2021 is first celebrated on the small Pacific island nations of Tonga, Samoa, and Kiribati. New Zealand follows next in celebrating the New Year, followed by Australia, Japan, and South Korea, while the last place to celebrate New Year is Bakers Island which lies in central Pacific Ocean.”

The last place to welcome the New Year are the uninhabited Howland and Baker Islands, near the United States, while. American Samoa is the second last to celebrate the New Year.

Well, well, well. I celebrate the diversities of the world.

Peace, goodwill, and abundance to all in 2021!
