Cooking with Unmis: Green Sauce


  • Fresh Parsley (1 bunch)
  • Fresh Basil (2 stems)
  • Fresh Thyme (1 stem)
  • Fresh Green Spinach (1 bunch)
  • Green Bell Pepper (1)
  • Anaheim, Chile, or Jalapeño Pepper (optional)
  • Onion (1 medium sized)
  • Salt
  • Maggi cube
  • Oil ( your choice)

Cooking Instructions

  1. Rinse the fresh greens with cold water
  2. Pour in your blender
  3. Cut half of the onion
  4. Add oil
  5. Slice or cube a fourth-sixth of remaining onion
  6. Add one (1) teaspoon of salt
  7. Add two (2) Maggi cubes
  8. Cook over medium heat for about ten (10) minutes. (Overcooking will change the fresh green to a dark green.)

Sauce is rich in iron, calcium, vitamins A, C, E, and K, to name a few. “Green bell peppers are low in calories, and high in dietary fiber and vitamins C and K.” Can be mixed with fish, chicken, or beef over rice, pasta, or potatoes.
