Electoral College certifies Biden

It is now official – Joe Biden has been certified as the winner of the U.S.A. Presidential election. Together with the Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, they will both be sworn in on January 20th, 2021. Prior to January, however, according to CBS News, there are still two major dates to hurdle:

  1. December 23: All copies of the electors' votes must be delivered to the recipients.
  2. January 6: Congress will count the votes of the electors. Procedure calls for Pence to open each state's "certificate of ascertainment" — documents prepared by the state after it has completed its vote count and ascertained the official results. He will then present the certificate to four "tellers" who announce result tallies. Once a candidate reaches 270 electoral college votes, Pence will declare the winner.

Joe Biden won 306, of the total of 538, electoral votes; 270 is needed to affirm the winner.

Kamala Harris’s affirmation as Vice President is a win for women as she will be the first African- and Native-American woman to hold the office.

ThinkTalk wishes both a peaceful reign in The White House.

What does this mean for all of us?

Definitely it means an atmospheric change, changes in laws and policies, probably some reforms and hopefully, the beginning of the end of overt racism and social injustices; including cures for the covid-19; first rollout of the vaccine is already being given. Most importantly, I hope that it signifies the return of peace, joy, and hope to the United States of America and all.

Meanwhile, incumbent President Donald Trump’s legal crew still insists that the votes were stolen in some states though their legal maneuverings have been dismissed by the Courts.

The more serious issue

Affirming the presidential election is serious and necessary for the moving forward of America/Americans in various aspects.

However, what is much more serious, personally, is a critical review of all the prophetic words that was given prior and during the elections that God had ordained Donald Trump for a second term. I know that God is not a man that He should lie. Were the prophets/prophetesses saying what God had not instructed them to say? Or did Donald Trump’s behavior and attitude cancel him out of the prophetic words?

I do not know. But I do hope, in order to restore the dignity of the Prophets and the Office, both spiritual and physical, that all the prophets/prophetesses must repent if they’ve spoken presumptuous words concerning Donald Trump and the election. And if they did indeed, I pray that God forgives them all.

Popular or Electoral?

Are you following the American Elections or still glued to your television awaiting the results like I still am? Or while driving, tuned to the radio that’s analyzing the American Election results?

If you are, I’m sure you’ve heard Popular Votes and Electoral Votes. What do they really mean as it concerns America’s Election and the ongoing count and results?

Well, remember that I blogged about being “anxious” (something I ordinarily I’m not) about the Election and post-Election. It still bothers me that the feeling is not falling off despite my prayers. I can’t wait for God to reveal the why.

. . .

Well, well. We all know what popular means. It simply means favored by the majority. As in someone being popular, right? The majority of the people like the person. Good.

Please note that not all States’ votes have been 💯% counted. Mail-in votes are still trickling in and will continue to be counted for the next few days.

At the moment, though, the counted election results are indicating that Joe Biden is the popular guy. But, wait a minute . . .

Well, well, well. But what do we know about the Electoral votes? Electoral votes, in the U.S.A., determined the 2016 Presidential Race. As you now know, Hilary Clinton won the popular votes, but Donald Trump won the electoral votes and became President.

“Each state has a number of electoral votes equal to the combined total of its congressional delegation, and each state legislature is free to determine the method it will use to select its own electors.” The numbers are shown on the map below.

According to the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), “the 50 States and the District of Columbia use one of two methods for awarding their electoral votes.” These are either the Winner-takes-all System or the District System. Read more about it here.

For your information, and for the benefit of my non-US followers, there are currently a total of 538 electoral votes.

“The U.S. Constitution specifies that the President and Vice President of the United States are to be chosen every four years by a small group of people (currently 538) who are individually referred to as “presidential electors” and collectively referred to as the “Electoral College.””

It’s not. But you might not be aware that

the President of the USA is not chosen by a national popular vote.

We might not know the true and final results for many days to come. What with incumbent President Donald Trumps’ lawsuits. Till then, join me in praying for peace not only in America, but globally. 🙏🏾✌🏾😍
